Trinity Sports Medicine To Host 'Concussion In Sports' Free Lecture Series

July 6, 2015 10:13 a.m.

Trinity Sports Medicine is offering a Free Concussion in Sports Lecture entitled "What every parent, athlete, and coach needs to know" on Tuesday, July 14, from 5:30 p.m.– 6:30 p.m. at the YMCA arena.
The Concussion Care team will present:

• Guidelines on concussion recognition

• A detailed sideline management card that will help coaches and parents make decisions at the time of injury

• Information on the importance of baseline testing prior to the season

• Information on the TSM’s concussion management program from prevention, evaluation, recovery tips, and state mandated safe return-to-play protocols

The Sports Medicine team will also be unveiling “The C3 Logix”   --  the newest iPad based software package designed at the Cleveland Clinic. This new system will provide a more comprehensive "fingerprint" of the athlete’s normal brain activity and function at baseline and post injury.  In addition to the typical computerized cognitive tests, The C3 Logix provides balance, vision, and ocular reflex testing components which will provide the physician with the information they need for quick and safe return to play.
Attendees will receive a voucher to schedule a Free Baseline Test for their student athletes.
Added Bonus: Trinity P3 Performance understands the importance of concussion management and has offered to present each team or group that can bring 10 or more athletes with a gift certificate for One Free Speed / Agility Training session for their entire team at the individuals' high school or the P3 facility.  This is value of $150.
RSVP now for extra chances to win prizes and receive more benefits. To RSVP, please call (740) 266-3866 or visit the Trinity Sports Medicine Facebook page.
