Trinity Health Zone initiative aims to improve area’s overall health

Each year, the overall health of the Ohio Valley is declining. Last year, with No. 1 being the healthiest, West Virginia ranked 46th in the nation for health and Ohio ranked 40th.

We can be better than this!  All of these health issues cost us not only a better life, but money. Doctor’s fees, medical costs and insurance rates can be lowered by healthy lifestyles.  In response, Trinity Health System has launched a new initiative to engage people to adopt healthy habits -- and have fun at the same time.

The “Trinity Health Zone” is a free program for all upper Ohio Valley communities, businesses and educational institutions with one simple goal: To promote wellness and encourage healthy behaviors.

Some benefits of participating:

- Free information and materials to improve healthy habits.

- Access to our Trinity Health Zone Wellness Staff, who can answer your health-related questions and guide you toward implementing a healthy environment.

- Show pride in your organization’s health promotion efforts.

- Community acknowledgement as a healthy place to live, work, learn and play.

- Media recognition to share your success stories.

- Special events and prizes.

- The most important benefit of all: Healthier participants, resulting in reduced health care costs and fewer sick days.
