Melissa Hassan, MSN, RN was recently appointed as the Director of the Trinity Health System School of Nursing according to Fred Brower, Trinity President and CEO. Hassan was chosen to lead the school following the retirement of Patricia Gerlando, PhD, RN.
Hassan is an Alumni of the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA. She has also received awards at the undergraduate and graduate levels of education for her leadership qualities.
Hassan has over twenty-six years of healthcare experience in nursing education.
“Becoming the Director of my Alma Mater’s School of Nursing is quite an honor and fulfills a life-long goal,” said Hassan. She added, “Our School of Nursing has a tremendous history and has achieved a 100% pass rate on Nursing Board exams over the past several years.”
Hassan resides in Wintersville with her husband. They have one daughter.
