Trinity Health System is pleased to announce the finalization of the process of developing a partnership with the thirteen individual physicians who were part of the Riverside Medical Group. As a result of months of discussion stemming from a mutual interest in creating a closer working relationship between community physicians and the hospital, agreements have been reached between each of the individual physicians and Trinity. This new relationship is designed to further pursue local interests in aligning our community-based clinical services.
Consistent with national trends toward provider integration and collaboration, designed to promote more efficient and effective delivery systems, Trinity and the physicians of Riverside have agreed to take this important first step. With the challenges created by healthcare reform, shrinking reimbursement, and increasing costs, increased cooperation between physicians and hospital is necessary to be successful. Trinity is looking forward to the clinical and operational benefits of this new relationship.
Patients of each of the physicians and Trinity will not see any change in their traditional physician or hospital relationships or preferences. Improved coordination of care and better clinical outcomes are some of the benefits that patients will realize as a result of the closer alignment of the hospital and physicians.
Trinity will continue to work with all of the community's physicians and the members of its Medical Staff. Trinity currently has 150 active and 56 courtesy physicians on its Medical Staff, including employed and independent physician partners.
