WorkCare is the Occupational Health Department of Trinity Health
System and provides a comprehensive Occupational Health Service
to the business community. Our program is designed to assist the
client company decrease lost work time, medical expenses, insurance
premiums and maintain compliance with company and government regulations..
Medical
Surveillance
Clinical services that include:
- Preplacement physicals
- Return to work physicals
- Government mandated physicals
- Audiology testing
- Pulmonary function testing
- Vision testing
- EKG, lab tests, X-ray and a wide range of biological monitoring.
Substance Abuse Testing
Consultation and assistance in the development of “Drug Free Workplace”
policies and on-going drug screening programs.
Services to meet government mandated drug screening to include:
- Random sampling
- Regional drug screen collection site for
all DHHS Certified Labs
- 24-hour drug testing availability
- Breath and Blood Alcohol Testing
- Medical review officer services
- 5,8 and 10 panel drug testing
Injury Treatment and Case Management
Client’s employees are treated in the injury treatment area of
the clinic. The employer saves money on lost work time and the
medical costs of an emergency room visit. Case management starts
at the time of injury to expedite the return to work process,
again saving the employer on lost work time expenses, medical
expenses and on insurance premiums.
During non-business hours, emergency coverage for work-related
injuries is provided through the emergency department of Trinity
Health System. Information is provide to WorkCare, and the employee
returns to the clinic for follow-up treatment and case management.
Physical Therapy
Intense physical therapy to relieve initial symptoms. Work conditioning
to prepare the body physically for return to work. Job-site analysis
to determine the job’s physical demands and ergonomic needs. Functional
capacity evaluations which determine the worker’s ability to work
and other industrial hygiene programs.
Wellness Promotion
This service includes:
- Cholesterol screening
- Blood sugar screening
- CPR classes
- Health risk appraisals
- Health screening services
- Health education programs and literature
- Health counseling and nutritional counseling
- Flu vaccinations
Employee Assistance Program
An EAP will keep your medical insurance premiums down by early
intervention. Also an EAP helps control absenteeism, turnover
and sick time down. EAP works directly with the individual employee
and/or their immediate family members to overcome problems that
may jeopardize work performance and attendance. On-site training
and education programs for supervisors and employees is available.
Topics include:
- Stress management
- Depression
- Substance abuse and prevention
- Parent/child conflict
- Motivation and assertiveness training

Work Injury Treatment patients should report to the Emergency
Room at Trinity Health System.

Trinity Medical Center West is conveniently located in the west
end of Steubenville and is easily accessible from all directions.
Traveling West via Route 22
Stay on Route 22 through the city of Weirton. Cross the Veteran’s
Memorial Bridge into Ohio. Stay in the left lanes and follow Ohio
7 North/22 West. Staying in the far left lane for approximately
0.5 miles follow 22 West Cadiz signs. Take the first exit which
is the John Scott Highway exit. Follow John Scott Highway to the
traffic light which is the Sunset Boulevard intersection. Staying
in the left turning lane, turn left onto Sunset Boulevard. Stay
in the right lane and at the third red light, turn right onto
Johnson Road past Central Catholic High School on your right.
Follow Johnson Road past the St. John Arena to Trinity Medical
Center West.
Traveling East via Routes 22 and 43
Stay on Route 43 through Wintersville (Route 43 is also known
as Sunset Boulevard in Steubenville.) Stay on Sunset Boulevard
in the right lane through Steubenville until you come to Johnson
Road. Turn right onto Johnson Road past Central Catholic High
School on your right. Follow Johnson Road past the St. John Arena
to Trinity Medical Center West.
Traveling South via Route 7
Take Route 22 West Cadiz and take the first exit which is the
John Scott Highway exit. Follow John Scott Highway to the traffic
light which is the Sunset Boulevard intersection. Staying in the
left turning lane, turn left onto Sunset Boulevard. Stay in the
right lane and at the third red light, turn right onto Johnson
Road past Central Catholic High School on your right. Follow Johnson

Traveling North via Route 7
Travel on Ohio 7 North through Steubenville. Take Route 22 West
