Cholesterol
High blood cholesterol levels can cause blocked arteries, a process
called atherosclerosis. A diet which includes large amounts of fatty
meats, dairy products, and high fat is rich in cholesterol and bad
for your circulatory health. "Knowing your number" could
help prevent blocked arteries. The recommended cholesterol level
is less than 200mg/dl for all adults.
Find out your "number" by attending a cholesterol screening
offered to the community at various times throughout the year. We
can also provide on-site screenings to community organizations,
schools, and businesses. Heartland, the largest community screening
provided by Trinity, is held at the Fort Steuben Mall in February.
