TRINITY HEALTH SYSTEM SCHOOL OF NURSING; THE EXCELLENCE CONTINUTES...

Debbie Mathiew, Carla Milosevich and Yvonne Tolson-Myers, faculty of Trinity School of Nursing, were selected from several hundred applicants to present an abstract denoting innovation in nursing education at the Ohio League for Nursing Education Summit held in Columbus, on March 25th. The abstract entitled, Incorporation of a Mock Mega Code and Disaster Drill in an Advanced Nursing Course, described the educational preparation of the new graduate for handling of real-life emergent situations and for meeting safety objectives within the NCLEX-RN Test Plan set forth by the State Board of Nursing. The experience of taking an active role in mega codes and disaster drills has proven valuable to the educational process, to the community, and for the individual student's professional growth.
