TRINITY ANNOUNCES HEARTLAND AT NEW LOCATION
Trinity Health System along with Prime Time Office on Aging, The Herald Star, WTOV 9, Lamar, 106.3 The River, and Mended Hearts are sponsoring HEARTLAND 2010 at the Fort Steuben Mall on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm. Designed as the "Largest Heart Risk Appraisal Under One Roof," the event marks its sixteenth year. According to Keith Murdock, Trinity's Director of Community Relations and Development, "Trinity Health System is offering this program to help community members improve their health through screenings and information. We moved the event to the Fort Steuben Mall hoping more people would be able to attend."
This year's event will include the Community Blood Analysis which tests participant's blood for over 30 different screens. "This blood screening has been offered for the past 15 years with over 23,000 area residents taking advantage of this service," Murdock added.
Several other departments from the hospital will be on hand to display their services and provide additional screenings. These interactive displays will be manned from 8 am - 6 pm.
The cost of the Blood Analysis is $35 and organizers expect at least 1,500 participants this year.
